January 05 Palestinian attacks: none Israeli attack: Nablus – 20:10, the Israeli Army opened fire on an area in the village of Tall. Israeli attack – critical wounding: Northern Gaza – 10:15, one person, Awad Zara’in, was critically wounded when Israeli troops opened fire on a group of labourers. Non-violent resistance – stun grenade attack: Hebron – 12:00, Israeli forces fired stun grenades to prevent protest demonstrations in Beit Ummar. Occupation settler agricultural sabotage – Israeli Army violence and complicity – injury: Nablus – 15:00, a 16-year-old boy, Amir Farah, was injured when the Israeli Army opened fire with rubber-coated bullets and stun and tear gas grenades in support of settler militants who invaded Qusray village farmland and bulldozed crops. Occupation settler raid – Israeli Army violence and complicity: Hebron – 19:50, Israeli settlers invaded the al-Urub refugee camp while supporting Israeli troops fired stun grenades at refugees. Raid: Jerusalem – 20:00, Israeli soldiers raided Al-Ram and abducted three youngsters: Mohammad Al-Abassi (15), Khalil Abu Sanad (17) and Mahmoud Sarhan (17). Economic sabotage: Gaza – the Israeli Navy continues to enforce its unilaterally-imposed three-nautical-mile fishing zone in violation of the slightly less extreme six-nautical-mile fishing zone that fishermen were led to expect following the latest ceasefire agreement. January 06 Palestinian attacks: none Home invasion – property violation: Jenin – dawn, Israeli soldiers raided Kafrit village, invaded a home, detained a university student and made off with his computer. Home invasion – property violation: Hebron – 02:00, the Israeli Army raided Beit Ummar and invaded two homes, injuring one person, Alaa Salibi, smashed windows in another house, and abducted two 16-year-old boys: Yahay Abu Mariya and Sadiq Abu Mariya. Raid: Jerusalem – 15:30, the Israeli Army raided al-Issawiya and abducted a 17-year-old youth, Ali Obied. Raid: Ramallah – 16:20, Occupation troops, firing rubber-coated bullets, raided Deir Nathim village, injuring Hamam Zam’har and leaving him with a facial wound. Beating: Jerusalem – 16:25, Israeli soldiers in the Old City beat up and hospitalised a Hebron resident, Mohammad Zamar’a. Israeli Army violence – stun and tear gas assault: Hebron – 16:55, Israeli troops, positioned at the entrance to the al-Urub refugee camp, fired tear gas and stun grenades at nearby children. Occupation settler land annexation: Nablus – the Israeli Army took a plot of land containing a Palestinian family home and handed it to Israeli settlers, based on an Israeli court ruling handing the land and the home to Occupation settlers. Abductions: Bethlehem – Israeli soldiers abducted three boys: Mahmoud Taqatqa and Ahmad Taqatqa (both aged 15) and 16-year-old Ali Taqatqa. January 07 Palestinian attacks: none Home invasions: Jenin – 04:10, the Israeli Army raided al-Jadida village, searched two homes, forcing residents out and holding them in a cave. Two other people were taken prisoner. Home invasions and beating: Hebron – 21:35, the Israeli Army raided homes in the Tel al-Rumeida neighbourhood, forcing residents out of their homes and holding them there while beating up a family member. Another resident was taken prisoner. Occupation settler violence and vandalism in mosque: Jerusalem – Israeli settlers invaded the al- Aqsa Mosque compound and vandalised the 17th Century al-Nabi Daud Mosque, smashing three windows and several slabs of marble as they attempted to turn the first floor of the building into a synagogue.
